This route is going to pose a technical challenge to grade 8 riders. At nearly 5 km, it is a bit shorter than the 2015 course in Powell River, but it presents different challenges that will push the riders to their limits After a steep gravel climb to start, racers enter Frank's trail (RIP Frank who just passed away recently). A new trail sign marks the entry, and a wonder of XC single track awaits riders. Even with a general tendency downward for 2 km, the course will require constant pedalling. With a really long band of single track, getting a holeshot on the entry to Franks is a tactical advantage. Once Franks is done, riders begin climbing single track. The legs are tired and the technical uphill single track will certainly have many riders off their bikes for the power moves. Perhaps the very best will ride the entire section, but I doubt it. At the top of this trail (which is combo of Hustler and Flow in reverse direction) the course gives the racers a passing window. Down a gravel road pitch to the yellow gate on Conifer Dr. and out onto Harper Rd. Climbing on the shoulder, riders slip onto a trail that cuts back onto the Harper Rd climb and face an uphill gravel road finish. if the leaders are together here, its a leg smashing sprint to the archway for the win!

Trail Frank's
As far as down country is a thing. This is kind of it. Ups and downs, but mostly down. Not especially technical and definitly a trail where you that is fun if you get a bit of rithem going with the clims and descends

Despite that this trail is downhill, it's seems like all ups and downs. Trail sort of carves back and forth. Not really for me, but clearly some people enjoy it.

Don’t be fooled by the trail description, definitely not a downhill trail. I recommend getting off the trail and bushwhacking your way straight to the bottom.

Great climb. Definitely a challenge close to the end. Lots of loose gravel at the steep section but totally climbable. Just keep the power up, butt back, and spin!

First time riding Franks today, it has a substantial amount of climbing, certainly more than 16m. Just thought I’d point this out for other first timers, I’d almost call this an XC trail.

My favorite lower burke mountain trail. Fast and reasonably technical for a blue. Feels reasonably natural without much scrubbing of the trail.

Yes. Just stay on the road and keep going straight, it will turn into a single track trail and joins Franks.

Pretty fun trail at the beginning with some cool features, then the latter half really is a let down.
Lots of flat turns and is really hard to carry speed through.

Franks was in top form today. Dirt wasn't too dry (still some evidence of a puddle about 2/3 of the way down, rocks were sticky as heck, did that log ride tree in the first in third slow-mo to show da missus that I still got it (haha) and those old busted wooden features are GONE, nothing but you and the trail..GREAT job on marking the detour as well.

Super awesome fun trail, lots of twists and turns, in great condition, a bit dry and slippery. Has g great log ride (that I ride past) about 4-5 feet high but there is a go around. Definitely a more technical blue with a few challenging parts. Again super fun!

Frank's is open to the bottom, including a new connector that takes you to the Hustler exit to Harper Rd. Please follow the arrows and exit where directed. Wesbild has helped TORCA build this section of trail in order to keep riders away from the hairpin corner. Enjoy this new extension!!

If you choose to ignore construction signs at the top, take Frank’s Detour to get back to the road. Clear path all the way down today but you can see where trees are marked for future falling.

This trail was very sub par. Old school tight turns on most of the trail. The 2nd skinny is so overgrown the downramp is covered in prickles. Was not a fan of this trail personally.

Greasy and covered with a carpet of leaves. The Earth is less loamy on Frank''s so expect to get a little muddy. There's some trees down in spots from the last blow that we had, to.

A steep climb, but the road was fixed up in spring 2013 so there is far less loose rocks.
