Trail Benchmark
Permagrin and benchmark are two separate trails. This one is benchmark. When you get to the top of benchmark you meet up with the top of TK and the top of Permagrin. TK runs down the bottom of the valley, permagrin runs on the north side of the valley and benchmark runs along the south side of the valley.

I wish I would have taken Cactus Slalom over this. It’s often perfectly strait and a road at times. Agreed on Loose gravel, lots of that all over these trails (I’m still a fan, but wouldn’t bring my kids here)

I am a beginner and I love this trail! I keep going off at this one section, but other than that it was so much fun. Since I ride pump tracks I was able to go fast, maybe a little too fast for only riding my 3rd time on a proper MTB trail.

This trail is in pretty awful shape after the rains. Gonna take a lot of love to get this area back up to par.

Well, finally rode it and it’s not my tea. Seriously, Flow Job has a better view with a little bit more challenge (if not the same); Dead Horse → 3 Miles Smile loop has much more fun and requires less energy. So why landmine loop?

Beginners will want to ride Mustang Loop and Badger Pass before this one. Old Spanish is fine, just lots of loose gravel. Like a lot

Killer flow!!! Keep up your speed and try to compress the downhills to boost up the hills and you will barely pedal the whole way down. Up TH and down PermGrim is a fun loop!

This trail is a green if u go slow and a blue if u go fast. Very fun flow with countless berms into and out of washes. At the end point when u come down to road level - take road back into town. Tempting to stay left thinking u can get more single track but ... nope runs out fast and turns into suck

Trail Perma Grin
What a trail! I rented a Stumpy and decided to tackle Mesa system, after having an amazing ride I wanted to finish my day on Permagrin. I rode it once and realized that my day was far from over.....I loved it so much that I ended up riding it 3 more times! One piece of advice I'd gave to a new rider on this trail would be to make sure you know how to pump down a slope. If you do, you'll be rewarded with one of the best flows of your life! Enjoy!

I would not put this as a green trail due to White Rhino in the middle, which is not a beginner hill. It is a great trail though!

In my opinion ( I like high speed flowy downhills with climbing nearly a means to an end) at about the 1/3 mark, follow sign to cactus slalom. Then at a main intersection take little daytona which is part of the late night loop. This will dump u out at another intersection where u can rejoin landmine loop and ride back to Blue diamond. I’ve passed some people doing this trail in the opposite direction and I can’t figure it out

Seems like it’s loose and cobbly either direction. Some fun flowu parts and then some random, massive obstacles that are easily black diamond to clear. Easy enough to walk but they seem out of place.

Trail Benchmark
The swoopy downhill section is called Permagrin. And don't be fooled. The swoops may not be drop ins. But they a very 'V' like. 5' to 15' 45 degree down and immediate up. Zero G at the top 2 G at the bottom. Fun but will wear out your hands and arms if you don't use super proper riding technique.

So i crashed this morning just as the sun came out...
Started riding faster when I could turn my headlight off, (5:30ish-AM)
forgot about the blind right curve after one of the last big rollers.... Grabbed way too much front brake before the top of the roller without shifting my weight back. OTB, 3 foot pop UP then down 10feet ... I'm "ok" but i'll be marking that as a hazard next ride out. signs of other crashes there (bar endcap found and sunglass parts)
