Really nice climb. The top section before it starts heading back downhill gets very steep and rocky, can hit Kaibab/Yavapai to bypass if needed.

I agree with last comment. I took it from Hiline and it’s not that fun. Techy climbs where I had to walk most of the time. I guess it’s more fun to ride it the other direction.

Climbing up this on the way back from hi line is very challenging. Unless you are very good at tech climbs I think you would not enjoy going up this. I bet it would be sweet going down though.

Can’t believe that of all trails in Sedona, this was made one-way for bikes. It works great in both directions and is commonly used to get to Hiline, and is a more entertaining climb than Templeton for that purpose. If anything, Grand Central should be mandatory downhill only.

clockwise is better for sure. FYI, Slim Shady N to S has a sign at Templeton intersection showing no bikers/directional trail. so clockwise is only option for this route.

Started out from the entrance just north of Bike and Bean and rode it S to N. Challenging uphill and a blast to ride the downhill parts. I’m an intermediate biker and rode with my wife, who hasn’t ridden a lot of technical stuff. She managed to clear a large portion of the downhill stuff, but we both hike and biked a few of the uphill stuff. Had a blast. There’s a sign at the Templeton junction that advises Slim is one way only from that point south. So don’t try riding that way and hoping you’ll hop on it and ride back down south.

This trail is now a one-way downhill only trail starting at the intersection with the Yavapai Vista trail heading north. There’s a big sign at the bottom saying MTB’s aren’t allowed to go up.

Slim Shady extremely tough north to south (ccw) due to slick rock sheer faces that must be climbed. Would definitely go clockwise next time.
Overall fantastic route.

Agree with comeownnah. More of a blue trail with a few brief intermittent black sections. Super fun in both directions. I usually park at absolute bikes and pair this trail up with Little Horse, up to chicken point and then turn around come back. Slim Shady is a very enjoyable and moderately challenging climb when ridden north to south.

Nice, flowy, true green trail. Very good for beginners, plenty wide, with few rocks or obstacles, and those can be easily avoided. Heavy use, often by hikers, some with dogs. So be careful, and respectful as you pass. Excellent condition a few days after an early January snowstorm.

Trail Templeton
Early January, 2022, most of this trail is in decent, rideable condition, though there are patches of mud, a couple of which probably should be walked. Some of the mud has turned small bits of the techy rocks a bit sketchy in places, but nothing dangerous. There are spots of ice in standing water, which should melt out in coming days.

Trail Little Horse
Rode from Llama to Chicken Pt and back down to the bottom. Uphill was not bad at all, as long as you can roll up the occasional 1-2 ft high step (other than the mega-step/chute at the east end... you'll know it when you see it!), the rest of the gardens had pretty obvious lines to follow; a lot of "blue" trails have gnarlier/more exhausting climbs. Definitely lots of hikers along the way to say hi to, views at the top are worth the climb. And of course the ride down was a blast!

One of the best downhills I rode in Sedona, lots of fun rock gardens with some faster sections mixed in. One very steep chute near the top that felt like more than single black to spice it up.

Fun trail. Would recommend riding South to North, starting at Absolute Bikes for a HiLine or Templeton/Easy Breezy loop.

Gonna be that guy and say it's not a black, but it's fun and fast. You can take some B-lines to add spice to taste.

Hardest features are techy climbs and rock rolls, nothing that should scare away an intermediate rider. Would recommend to anyone.

Always this coming from the east. Prefer Easy Breezy for it's fun beginning section rather than the ups and downs of Templeton west to east. But I'm not knocking Templeton at all. It's great riding with excellent views. Skip the switch backs to the river for a shorter ride. But Buddha Beach and the excellent Bauldwin are not to be missed, even if you have to hike your bike up a 1/4 mile of steep trail (90% of which is ridable on the way down).

Trail Easy Breezy
Totally agree with @ThatGuy-MTB. The beginning mile plus from Templeton down off the slick rock is superb riding, with some big drop options and super fun fast flow. The rest of EB is great cross country flow with a few creek crossings that make for spice (one is probably not rideable by normal humans). If you had the legs, back out on Templeton is more scenic, but this trail is a great respite from the ups and downs of the area.

Rode this trail a s a connector from Slim Shady to Eazy Breezy, so rode it east to west. Loved the down hill portions. There were a couple of fun areas to session and a nice techy climb at one point. The views were amazing and the overall trail is in great shape but was crazy dry today. I would love to ride this section when it is nice and tachy.

Holy crap, what a fun trail. The drop in point is fantastic. Plenty of drops, little jumps and a multitude of options. After that it is a fairly mellow trail except for the outpoints at each wash crossing. Some were easy to climb and others offered a bit of a challenge. This trail has a little bit of everything for sure.

Great trail and description is pretty spot on. This was my first time on this trail and it was very trail and the rock was pretty slippery. Running down through the washes was a blast. The rock rolls were fun and the chunk in them is fantastic. Has its mellow spots and its hairy spots, so be prepared for a mix of both. Speed definitely helps on certain points of this trail.

There are two sections of Slim Shady, not sure why they're separated on TrailForks. This part is better ridden as a down since it's got some fast, flowy sections. But it can definitely be ridden as an up, too. I would say it's more of a blue than a black. Took this from Bell Rock Singletrack Bypass to the parking lot. In that direction it is a VERY fast double track trail with quite a bit of foot traffic as well. You can sort of pre-hop some of the ditches in the doubletrack and get some air. Smallest gear on this one! Highly recommend this!

Trail Templeton
Took this West to East on the way from Hiline and Baldwin with a short stop at the creek. Very hard and steep uphill near the beginning that you have to walk your bike up. Later on when it snakes around Cathedral rock is a very nice, fast, and wide bare rock trail(relatively flat). After that you'll find some short, fast, and flowy descents. But it doesn't last very long because as you approach the road crossings(which are tunnels that go underneath AZ 179)it's all uphill with some short flats. Recommend it as appose to Easy Breezy.

Trail Templeton
One of my favorites in the area because it has a lot of variation in terrain and geography. On the north end after a very steep descent, you link up to a section that runs along Oak Creek which is very shady and cool!

Trail Templeton
Tough downhill at the north end and no easy way back once you commit to the final downhill. However a great river scene to reward you for the difficult downhill.

Trail Easy Breezy
Great trail with a couple demanding sections and several winding flow sections. Great way up or down from one area parking area to the other.
