Track is riding pretty good, a bit of windfall in the bush and boggy sections in the open but worth the ride, great views and a few techy features. Note the current signs tell you to complete the loop via the Gold Creek track, which is fine as this has some great riding through the bush both up and down.

Trail The Rameka
Epic trail. Rooty rocky techy stuff. Pedally for the first bit but not annoyingly so. Definitely wouldn’t give it a grade 4, my mate road it on a gravel bike with no suspension in the pouring rain. Solid grade 3

Trail The Rameka
Excellent track. bits of technical sections in places, roots and rocks. few small streams to cross. all more or less rideable, but all easily walked across. the last part - historic Rameka blast - is easier than the level 4 announced. we rode up Takaka Hill... that is tough!

Trail The Rameka
Did this as an out and back from the Canaan/Harwood Hole CarPark. Great fun rooty ride both directions. Easy pedaling both ways and flows great both directions. We rode down to the LRT entrance, then back and around Canaan Loop. Rad local trailbuilers have been building flowy fun new trail bypassing the old 4WD sections. Kudos on great trailbuilding to the local club.. From the top of LRT it was an easy climb back and ride back to Canaan Car Park. We were time limited on this ride. If I do it again it will be an epic from Takaka downtown up the climbing tracks around Canaan and back down to town.

Rode this March 16, 2020. Did Rameka out and back to Lower Rameka then Canaan Loop. Was about 30K and a great ride. The Canaan loop is great. Really enjoyed it and kudos to the local trail builders. Be aware that the current Trailforks tracks may not be totally acfdurate. Still well signed and easy to follow.

This trail is a mix of road-to-trail conversion and purpose built recreational trail. Crosses grazing lands as well. The purpose built sections had optional lines, some flow trail elements, cool rock work, and nice views of rolling pastures. This trail could use 3-5X as many riders to ride in lines and compact the trail- parts felt a bit raw and underridden. Overall a great ride.

If we had more time I would have parked in Takaka and ridden up the Rameka climbing tracks and done Canaan loop as well for an epic day with beer and pastries back in town.

Trail The Klicks
Flat-ish trail with numerous technical features and small jumps and drops. Hard to keep speed due to shallow gradient.

Take a pass on this. Not worth a ride.

Variable terrain. Interesting and enjoyable ride. Great views. Started with the climb from the Canaan car park to the Rameka turnoff, then followed the Canaan Loop signs, clockwise. Lost the trail in places but seemed to pick it up again soon after. Not sure if this was the official Canaan Loop; our loop didn't seem to match any on the map at the car park
