This route is suitable for experienced mountain bikers, as the single-track path winds its way down some steep slopes and includes a few serpentines. It is one of the most difficult routes in the destination Zermatt – Matterhorn. If you are brave enough to take your eyes off the trail for a second, you’ll see some stunning views.

The initial climb is done using the Gornergrat Bahn. When you reach the Gornergrat, you go past the Gifthittli mountain station and then take the left-hand trail.

This is a very technically challenging trail that snakes through loose gravel and steep slopes. The trail after Untere Kelle includes a few serpentines that require a mountain biker's full attention.

At the end of some difficult sections, you'll reach the Mountain Lodge Ze Seewjinu (formerly Berggasthaus Grünsee) on the right-hand side. We highly recommend taking a break here, so you can start the last section of the trail to Findeln feeling fresh. From Findeln, heading downhill on the Sunnegga Trail is recommended.
