An easy ride that you could take a new rider on, and one that your kids might really enjoy. The singletrack is fairly easy, and not very rough. Ridgeline is a great introduction for new riders, as the downhill does not require heavy braking or an advanced skill set.

Trail Ridgeline
A once great trail ruined by the recent renovations. It’s never been a technical trail, but there at least used to be some technical features. Now it’s a smoothed out pump track. For sure a Green trail now. Waited a few months to see if the rain would expose any rocks put underneath the new dirt, but I don’t think there’s anything there. Used to be a trail which could be enjoyed by those who have ridden for a while and beginners, but I think mainly a beginner trail now. Unfortunate decision by DuPont.

Ridgeline got “neutered” and “sanitized” long time ago, it’s actually way way faster now which is kind of surprising from the multi use aspect. It’s a fun flowy descent for all skill levels. I love rowdy tech stuff but this trail is still fun. Here’s a fun challenge: drop into the downhill and make it to the bottom with 0 pedals.

Agreed with the others. Short but very sweet.

Trail Ridgeline
I used to really enjoy this trail, I’ve ridden it a lot over the last couple years and it was one of my favorite quick loop rides. After the recent revision it lost any and all technical elements and feels like a groomed pump track….sad…..

Thank you to the trail workers who took a great trail and dialed it to 11! Did 3 loops today and every time I hit the bottom of the trail, groups of riders were smiling and laughing about how much fun the revisions are. Great job and many thanks!

Trail Buck Forest Road
Basic double-track road out of the Buck Forest Parking area leading to various trails in the north / northwest sector of the forest. Relatively flat and smooth surface with little climbing.

Hit Ridgeline yesterday, coming down from Hickory Mountain Loop. Seemed much faster than it was the last time I rode it (maybe 4-5 years ago). I have to rate it as the best ~2 mile downhill rip I've ever been on... which includes all the super flowy stuff at Kerr Scott Lake.

Trail Lake Imaging Road
Nice climbing road, though if you had to come down it it has a lot of crests you could boost to make it more engaging

Interesting range of comments on this trail. Here is my take. It is not techy or marked a black Diamond. It has some natural contours you can boost but it it not a jump trail. What it is is a great flow trail that you can rail down at Mach 10 and have a lot of fun doing it. If that is what your expecting I think you won’t be disappointed. I would match it with Hickory Mth Loop running it counterclockwise and it makes for a nice long Blue rated trail descent. Hickory is more technical but you can still just pin your ears back from the top of it and fly down from there to the parking lot and have a nice smile on your face the rest of the day

Agree with NERyder's assessment. No gnar but it's advertised that way and if you want that, plenty of other options all around here. But if you think you'd like 1.6 miles of Super-G style buff ripping, one of my faves (I said at the end, that was as fun as 401 in CB).

Super fun fast flow trail. Anybody from a complete beginner, all the way to a seasoned pro would have an amazing time on Ridgeline. There were some braking bumps when I rode it, but definitely nothing bad in comparison to bike park trails. Something else to look out for is some wildlife, as when I was riding on my first lap down, a black bear ran across the trail about 15 feet in front of me. I’m not sure how common this is, but it’s definitely something to look out for.

Only thing wrong with this DH is that it's not 10x longer. Fast shot of adrenaline right to the heart.

Honestly a pretty lame trail, nothing difficult or necessarily fun. The peddle up is super easy, and the decent can be done by just about anyone. However, it is well maintained, and i do recommend it to anyone trying to learn how to ride their first downhill single track.

Defiantly an over hyped trail, with no challenges whatsoever, obviously what do you expect, it's the east coast
