Nov 12 - small ice patches on rock. Beyond a few larger puddles, which seem to always be there, the route was quite dry. Volunteers were building a new bridge on the northern end of the Flat Lake trail - excellent work guys!

The MRWA trail crew is working on a bypass to the the 'Climb of Champions' on Flat Lake Trail this month. CoC has become increasingly gullied from erosion, owing to it's routing, and crosses into private land. The new route will have several climbing turns, will be built to divert water off the trail, and generally be more 'climbable'. The first part of CoC (right after the long boardwalk) will be incorporated into the new climb, and some work is being formed on it. New dirt will be soft -- please try to stay off of it until the crew's tamping + time causes it to set up. Do not ride the new route while it is under construction; it causes a lot of problems and delays for the builders. Thanks. reporter

Beautiful black granite trail! Somewhat technical for a green trail but with the right line, you can roll everything.
