Breakheart Trail is approximately 4.9 miles from end to end with various terrain with moderate climbs over Penny Hill (western end) to flatter portions around Breakheart Pond (eastern end). Several sections are multi-use trail except the portion summiting Penny Hill (alternate trail available to other users to go around this section). Besides Penny Hill and Breakheart Pond, hikers can pass through an old campground and may get to see beaver activity around the pond

Breakheart Trail (Narragansett AMC) is a 5 mile popular intermediate route located near Exeter Rhode Island. This hike only route. This route includes 7 trails. This route climbs 507 ft with a max elevation of 412 ft then descends -427 ft.
