How do you feel about hike a bike? If you really enjoy it, this trail has more HAB then actual riding. Lots a loose rock, sand and boulders. Views are nice. If your crazy enough to hike up this with a bike it makes a nice connection to to Pass Mountain. Ride Pass MT counter counter clock wise to Belvins, skip going back down bull dog saddle.

HAB on the up...double black. Re-routes definitely needed..a few switchbacks here would make it more sane!

Hi John,
Who is doing the Trail work out there on these trails in this area & Gold Fields area? How can we help or get involved in helping to build/maintain these trails. A lot of them have potential, but need a little work to make them great.

Trail is best ridden in the downhill direction. It's currently slated for a reroute to improve rideability.

Definitely somewhere between a blue and a black. More challenging than most blue trails in this area. There are two or three hike spots, but still a fun trail! For the most part it is well-maintained, and there are some fun rock gardens in the middle. I would avoid Ironwood Crossing unless you are Gary Fisher

Second half of the trail going up is a hike a bike. Super chunky going downhill, especially the first 1/3 from the saddle down. Not really a bike trail, but a good challenge to anyone dumb enough to hike their bike up.

This trail isn’t ridden as much as others in the area so it is still loose and chunky. It’s tons of fun. The climb up isn’t too bad and has some tough but fun technical sections going up. The way back down is a super fun downhill full of rock gardens. Probably tougher than some of the other blue trails on Trailforks but is doable for anyone other than a brand new rider.

Agreed, great trail for the most part, definittely 2-3 short hike a bikes but the great views and fun trail in between make it somewhat worthy. I think the trail is closer to all black than mostly blue, but do give it a try

Good trail the first 1.5 miles. The further East you go after that, it turns into hike a bike. Best to go up 1.5 miles, then turn around

appropriate name for this... the climb is certainly a hike a bike. descending is a no joke steep and loose venture.
