This coastal track goes through approx 1.5km of private land south of Pencarrow Lodge entrance (lake kohongatera). There are signs at the north end that appear to suggest walkers and bikers are ok to go through. So be courteous and respectful to keep access open.

There is NO PUBLIC ACCESS across the private land between Parangarahu lakes and Orua Paunui Baring head. The sign at the North end states walkers and cyclist have access to the Paiaka shipwreck. If you wish to cross the private land check out how to get permission on the East Harbour Regional park web pages.
