This a great loop for people new to Browns Ravine (BR). BR is fun, but smallish. This loop gets you 4.5 miles of nice smooth trail (Blue) and some poppy climbs. Brown Ravine has some trail names that can be confusing, Brown Ravine Trail and Brown Your Ravine Trail are not the same trail but do intersect.

Start off a the Arco Gas Station on Sophia Drive. If you prefer you can park within the Park but you have to pay for packing if you don't have a State Parking pass. Parking is about $5. Take the gavel jeep trail to a steep but short little single track. If you make it to the river you went too far. That trail is Brown's Ravine Trail.

1. Take Browns Ravine, turn Right on Short Cut Trail.
2. Turn Left on Brown Your Ravine Trail.
3. Turn Left on Killer Rabbit, when you get to the bottom, turn Right back on to Browns Ravine Trial.
4. Take Browns Ravine Trial, turn Right on to Brown Your Ravine Trail.
5. Brown Your Ravine Trail becomes Flesh Wound Trail. Turn left when it dead ends into Browns Ravine Trail.

That gets you 4.5 miles.

If you want to do more 2 additional miles and you like super steep climbs, once you get to the bottom of Killer Rabbit, make a u-turn at the bottom and go back the way you just came until you get to the bottom of Brown Your Trail, then take Brown Your Trail as noted in step 4.

If you can, let me know when your rode the loop and if you like it.

Thank you,

Maddy's Daddy

Great for practicing basics while offering diverse features. It’s a great trail with terrain similar cross between climb, cross country, and rock/root garden sections.

Great trail for beginner mountain bikers, but can have heavy amounts of foot traffic and horses. The poison oak can get a bit crazy around this area if you decide to explore some of the off shoot trails.

Not too bad. Muddy in spots, but good overall. One tree down across the trail, but it’s passable.
