I do not know why but they have cleared cut all of the trees on second half of the trail. The trail is completely exposed and will be washed away after the first big rain. Used to be a fun trail but no more. I would like to know why.

Trail Nice Kitty
minus the first bit, super consistent climbing trail. didn’t take it down but looks like it could be fun in that direction too

Trail Nice Kitty
Having ridden Nice Kitty over 20 times, I have to disagree with Salvids. Nice Kitty is most often ridden as a climb from the lower Buffalo Creek lot to the Colorado Trail. Fast climbers will do this 5.2 mile/1,050' climb in less in than 40 minutes, and the current KOM is under 28 minutes. If you descend Nice Kitty, expect 95% of the bike traffic to be going the opposite way.

Do yourself a favor and ride this trail opposite of what Trailforks suggests. It’s a never ending climb and a miserable way to end a long ride here. Would make a fun, long descent in the opposite direction.

I just rode this a few weeks ago. It's a fun, pedaly cross-country loop with very little tech. Worth doing once. The descent down Charlies Cut and Sandy Wash make all the pedaling worth it. Definitely ride this loop clockwise. twowheeledwanderer.com/posts/buffalo-creek-imba-epic

The top/southern section of this trail (beginning as in TF) is labeled as Homestead according to the trail signs. If the topo says gashouse that’s even more confusing. I think homestead is correct. But certainly not Strawberry Jack that trail ends at the intersection with Skipper.

FYI, the northernmost section of this trail is incorrectly named.
The section that runs NE for 0.6 miles is actually the continuation of Gashouse Gulch Trail, labeled as only "Gashouse" on the tral signs.
COMBA and USFS is working to correct on signage.

FYI, per USFS info and topo maps, the southernmost 0.9 miles of this trail listing is incorrectly named. This part is still the northernmost section of the Gashouse Gulch Trail. I think even this isn't actually correctly named on the signs there; the signs just say ""Gashouse".
As of May 2020, some trail signs also don't even conform to THIS trail info here, so we are working on making all this consistent.

Fun little climb with small sections of chunk and a great haul through a big burn cut

Trail Homestead
Fun trail with Little Rock features to roll over. Some areas of deep sandy pea gravel to wipe out on. Goes from forest to a burn area.

Did the Wilderness Boundary change? It used to be further west than the road by less than a mile.
