This is a route I planned for a few beginners as an intro to Burnaby Mountain. Park on Gagliardi and head up the road towards Sidewinder. When you pop out of Sidewinder, veer back onto Mel's and go towards the ring road at SFU. Head across the ring road and descend Gearjammer. By heading back to the road, you avoid the more difficult climbing on Mel's and get to descend the top of GJ which is nice and flowy. At the bottom of GJ, instead of continuing down to the harder portion of Gearjammer take Mel's over to TCT and drop down onto Dead Moped and take the trail North to South for a cross country challenge with lots of bridges and optional features. Take DM to North Road Trail then cut over to the right towards Function Junction trail and descent Lower Snake...another fun little challenging trail for beginners. At the bottom, head to the right on the Pipeline trail and back to the car.

Note: Trail ratings on Burnaby Mountain are generally harder than you might find on the North Shore (ie. Blue trail could easily be a Green).
