I cannot understand why this is considered a black diamond trail. Very flowy, small rock garden section, and not very steep.

However some hikers were just behind me and let me through with there Key. Very lucky.

Fun trail, just a few chunky sections and one larger drop at the end. Fun. The climb back up Emerald has some teeth.

Fun tech trail. If you are riding this alone watch out for the Lizards Climb near the bottom. It is a two foot rock wall that some people like to challenge themselves on. It would be really nice to have a bypass for most of us who can't do it.

Recent maintenance done to Bottom of the first section, before the trees has been largely shaped with dirt berms instead of rock garden/armoring. Mostly a blue flow trail now. However thank you to Trail builders for keeping it rideable.

First time here today and it didn’t disappoint. Fast and flowy in the beginning then gnarly with rocks at the end. A lot of fun!

As a visitor, this was definitely my favorite trail in the park. Fast and fun at the start and some steeper, rockier stuff through the bottom half.

The July / Aug changes made the top section more flowy, definitely more of of a blue than black

Trail just received alot of work on the top. Breaking bumps are pretty much gone along with alot of the rock gardens. Berms are built up also. It's faster now but easier as well. For sure runs like a blue trail now.

Rode this about a month and a half ago on a hardtail with a 100 mm travel upfront. The bottom part was definitely a little spicy. Once you drop through the chute this trail is non-stop action till you reach the bottom. Looking forward to taking the Enduro bike out and see how it really feels.

Be careful, there is a drop at the bottom that can catch you off guard. ( I'd say most of the trail is Blue, but the drop and a few of the rocks are black)

Super fast and fun in the top (black), then extremely chunky, steep, and gnarly near the bottom (dbl black).

Did this route today with the addition of Fenceline before Lizards. Super fun. Hike-a-bike up the blue before Laguna Ridge, but it's worth it. Trails were super dry but still ran very well.

There is a nice sign post at the top marking the trail. I usually warm-up on fenceline and it spits me out almost right there.

Would NOT take a beginner down this trail, unless you want them to never ride with you (or maybe anyone else) again. Love this trail though and takes you to a series of other trails in the area.

I agree - it would be great to have a single track out of the park somewhere. Lizards was a blast - no beginner trail, but if you are comfortable with some drops and steep, it is a lot of fun.

Enjoyed the Old Emerald trail into Emerald Canton today. Fun single track - an ride with speed and a few surprises around turns. Several bridge crossing, included one sponsored by REI. At bottom the County Trail ends and it is the clear expectation that we ride back up Canyon. Trail to North or South is severe hike a bike and dumps you into private housing community. The ride back up Emerald was fine- much easier ride up than Willow or Big bend. Out and back fun to do once.

Lizards is decent fun, BUT, all the work climbing from the parking area and NO singletrack back down, that is CRIMINAL.

I was there today, need to hike north around the fence and there is a hiking trail that takes you along the pool side of the park which then dumps you in on the road.

VERY nice trail. Goes from a steep road to flowing(mostly smooth) singletrack. Be prepared though, there's a gate at the end. I called the housing communities main office and asked if they could escort me through. Luckily they were kind enough to send a security guard with a truck to haul my bike and me to let me out the other side.(Thank God, I didn't want to climb that hill).

We rode this from Old Emerald down to the west. Unless we missed something it ended in a gated community with no exit. We had to push up to get to highway #1

I've heard you need a key from that gated community to get through. Gotta hike around at the very bottom, or turn around and climb out.

Was just there today during a nice rain storm. We asked a guy inside if he could open it up so we could get out of the lightning. He couldn't open it with the key he had so, it's probably only the employees who can open it. This trail is not worth going down to the end. It would be awesome if you could get past that gate though.
