The trails selected for this multi-stage race will reward the generalist over the specialist, while showcasing the best of Whistler’s rooty, coastal rainforest and the challenging scree steeps of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Short but sweet. Steep. Rooty. Loose. Last section is particularly challenging with a tight left down a boulder.

The first section is a black/double black, being close to an edge or sharp rocky areas to fall on, make me a little risk adverse. I’d feel better with better pads or maybe some earth or a shrub near by. At the top There are a few steeps with sharp/loose rocks Which make selecting lines-quickly a challenge. My teenage kid walked allot of the top (only because of the risk) but
was rewarded with awesome techy flow rest of the way.

Top bit is maybe double black but not too bad. Top part is also easily walkable. Then it turns into a more flowy tech. If you have the skill take down miss fire to creekside.

The steep rock garden can be a bit spicy in the wet or mud.

Pretty fun semi technical black trail. Had a lot of super tight turns and a couple steeper chutey rock gardens. Definitely an easier black trail

Does anyone know... Is there a way to ride to the Top of the World from the top of Whistler Village Gondola? Peak chair will be closed when I’m there (end of Sept) and I don’t see a trail on the map.

No. Top of the world starts a good 400m above the top of the Gondola. There is no climb. Sorry Frown

I reccomend LOTS if you want an alpine ride, it should still be open.

What’s your suggestion for Top of the World:
Ride it all the way to the top of the Creekside zone, or drop-out of the bikepark into Khyber Pass, Middle of Nowhere, etc.?
I am leaning towards the latter, since I’m riding a trail-,not DH-bike, so I’m not going to be blowing through everything at warp speed anyway. And I like to get out and away from the resort. Does that make sense?

Beautiful setting, but busy, expensive, in terrible condition, and not particularly interesting or challenging (other than the chunder) riding. Lord of the Squirrels is 10 times the ride.

If you're a rider from BC, is this really a Black run? All of the videos make it look like a blue run at best. Can you confirm? Thanks

I've ridden a fair amount in BC. Definitely some black-ish spicy steps at the top and a couple here and there. Other than that mostly blue-ish.
Just road it Sunday: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHWnHcoPehQ

Yep - thanks - just saw that on the promo about Creekside. Just in time. I would have been disappointed to fly half way around the world and not be able to ride it!!

If you are considering riding this and have enough skill and experience you should do it. Worth the extra time. I wish I could've ridden it twice.
