Gatón de Campos encierra varias sorpresas. Una es la forma característica del remate de la Torre de San Pedro, visible conforme nos vamos acercando a la localidad. Otra es el destino de nuestra ruta.

Después de dar un paseo por sus calles, normalmente limpias y lustrosas, salimos cruzando la carretera de Villafrades para tomar un camino. Vemos a la derecha el cementerio pero no pasamos junto a él. Sin embargo, podemos admirar de cerca un precioso palomar blanco que se encuentra acompañado de un almendro. Juntos se hacen compañía.

Entre pequeñas bajadas y subidas llegamos a un cruce de caminos. Ya a lo lejos vemos entre los campos cultivados una zona con maleza de la que sobresalen dos pequeños chopos. Es nuestro destino.

Cuando llegamos allí vamos descubriendo un lugar lleno de vida y frescor entre los recios campos de cultivo, normalmente secos y solitarios. Un prado jugoso y verde, una charca con altas espadados, zarzales, pequeños árboles recién plantados que llegarán lejos, un continuo murmullo de pájaros... Y el secreto mejor guardado: la Fuente de Molillas.

Su estructura es de piedra caliza, con un arco ya movido y caja estanca que recoge las aguas. Es de las que no necesitan pitorro, el agua rebosa conforme va manando. Se encuentra encajada en la zona más alta del talud, al lado de los chopos que veíamos desde lejos. El lugar invita a quedarse un buen rato.

Un buen complemento del recorrido sería continuar el camino que nos ha traído y acercarnos hasta la cotarra inmediata, al Este. Veremos un ancho paisaje que también nos reconfortará.

Camino a Fuente Molillas is a 3 mile less popular easy route located near Medina De Rioseco. This hike only route can be used one direction and has a easy overall physical rating. This route climbs 16 ft with a max elevation of 2,502 ft then descends -19 ft.
