Cani Sant'Anna

Description:
The starting point is the train station of Sestri Levante. From there, head towards the hills riding along Via Antica Romana in the direction of the hospital. Past the hospital, at the traffic lights about 200 m further on, turn left and climb towards the church of San Bernardo, where you can fill up your bottle with water.
With a length of about 4.5 km and an elevation loss of 497 m, this is one of the most exciting trails in the area: the initial part winds into the dense vegetation of typical Ligurian woodland and then the trail heads downhill, swooping towards the sea.
The trail is exciting for several reasons: for the breathtaking views of the entire Tigullio gulf, for its fast and technical passages, for the challenging riding offered by the tough terrain, often rock-strewn, technical and demanding. Nevertheless the really striking feature of this route is given by its final section, straight on the sea, 50 m from the beach of Sestri Levante. To return to the start point, simply go straight along the asphalt road and, after about 300 m, you will be back at the train station of Sestri Levante.
Don't miss a visit to Sestri Levante, the 'Two Seas Town', a name that it gets from its two bays, that of Fairytales and that of Silence, enchanting beaches Christian Andersen fell in love with during his stay in 1833.
