Trail Goat Creek
Rode trail on 20-Nov in morning. Our group of 4 met another couple that had only made it 4km in then they turned around and were coming back out. They joined us and the group of six trailblazed and set the first fatbike tracks (8 km of which there were no hiker/bike/ski tracks). Hard going but now the next group should have a much easier time until the next snowfall.

Awesome balance of up and down with views of river and mountains. Not busy at all and dogs loved the run with water breaks. We didn’t do the full loop but went from Banff Springs to the end and turned back at the loop. I’m not sure if the loop ends at Banff springs.

Rode yesterday, it's a dirt road, not a trail. Can easily ride w one hand while holding a beer in the other from from Banff parking lot till empty. Road was dry, a few wood bridged river crossings, then you get to this trail. Towards end of this is a great view I posted. Worth saving a pint to pause there with.

Rode this trail from Canmore to Banff — super easy double track that is mostly downhill, allowing you to pick up some pretty good speed!

Rode the trail today from canmore to banff and returned to canmore on legacy. Mostly dry. This trail is fairly easy with loose rock on some of the descents which might intimidate inexperienced riders.

Would this trail be fun on gravel/hybrid bike. Hydraulic disc brakes and 700 x 38 mm tires. I want to loop groat creek trail and legacy trail back to Canmore. Any suggestions?

Trail Hoodoo Trail
Hiking trail with MTB option tacked on. Wide sidewalk like dirt bath. Except because of erosion there are mandatory stairs where the trail is long gone. This isn't really a must do in the area since there are real trails like the toe and Banff ave. Should be a green except for the ridiculous acends and decsends meant for hiking.

Oct 27, 2018 Goat Creek Trail Canmore to Banff: Parking lot temp 5 degrees with biting wind and flurries. First 1/3 of ride we encountered compact snow with a light dusting of new snow overnight that made the surface very grippy. Last 2/3 of the ride was a mix of clear sections and a few wet icy sections that were slippery and easy to go sideways on/crash on if one wasn't cautious. Looking far ahead / trail scanning was very important! All rideable if one rode conservatively in the trickier sections. We were riding on regular 27.5" bikes. Two trees across the trail that were easily walked around

Rode November 21, 2017. Not quite enough of a base yet for fat biking but give it another week.

Just rode this trail for the first time today. Snow conditions incredibly poor! 4” of sugar and no base. Brutal ride, barely made it out alive!!

Yes, elevation profile is wrong. This trail is pretty much continuous downhill from the campground, becomes fairly flat once you near the river and then has a steep uphill near the end with another steep up hill and stairs when you get to the parking lot. We love this trail (except for those last steep parts which required us to push our bikes up). It is a super fun way to get from the campground into town. Our 8 and 10 year old kids did walk a small portion of the steep downhill section and we did all have to push our bikes up the hills at the end but the rest of this trail isn't technica at all and is just pure fun!

Rode May 22, 2017. Smooth and dry. Much smoother than Goat Creek trail which is much rockier. A few good slow climbs but lots of long fun downhill. We only rode the West or South side of the creek. Trail was dry.

Good condition for mountain bikes, and just a few bumpy spots for adaptive bikes. Two short clay sections to cross, which will gum up your tires if it rains.
