This is a hiking trail. The climb is very much a hiking trail, so too is the descent. Just for anyone expecting an actual blue bike trail…

This should be labelled as hiking primary on trailforks

Trail Razors Edge
Rode this last in 2017. Don’t be mislead; it’s fun as hell. You need to be ready to climb. A lot. You need to be an advanced rider. It’s double black for a reason. And when you’re done, you feel like you really rode something. Something unique. Once in a lifetime. Special. If you can ride this, you can ride anything in the Rockies.

Trail Razors Edge
First off, let me say I take my hat off to the folks who can ride this Trail with any sort of flow or continuity. I’ve seen the you tube videos so it can be done, but not by me! Razors Edge reminds me of the old school pirate trails that people used to carve out in some random patch of trees on the edge of town. The forested part of the trail is often straight up or down the fall line and you can already seen the significant erosion damage and environmental impact. It’s like short sections of trail taking the shortest line possible line between every rock outcropping that could be found without any thought of using the contour of the land . When you get on the exposed ridge line there is no evidence of “trail building” at all, just braided tracks across the loose rock. This trail will need a complete overhaul if we ever hope to have it sanctioned and properly maintained. Yes, it is very technical and there are some killer views but the fun factor was very low for me.
