Agreed w/ blowmyfuse: pure vanilla and Ill add its the new standard sidewalk-on-the-sideslope, dopey, ill-planned and saltless saltines of a trail that is a must-avoid for shredding and is probably new-money for the noobs. Sad to see this but it seems to be the new Pisgah normal… its a trail but only that and surely better for erosion control but man… white bread at its finest. There are few trails I despise and avoid but - this ones at the top of the list now.

Stark contrast to the raw, thin and magical trail that is Squirrel Gap. Would recommend trying this trail in both directions as you see which way you like to ride Squirrel Gap. It's a mundane, very wide, sandy and red clay pedal that goes across the pitch. Typical vanilla trail builder stuff. No real features and a 5 year old can ride it on a Strider except maybe the rock armouring in the creek beds.
Again, only reason to ride this trail is to get to Squirrel. Lacks any character & is super wide.
Completely understand why it had to be re-routed, but if you've ridden anything like Weedpatch Mountain, you know this is a rushed, bulldozed re-route. Is more of an ATV trail than a true Pisgah jewel.

This is a creekbed that thinks it's a trail. With some work, could be a fun way back to S. Mills river. Got caught up on Squirrel in a vicious thunderstorm, so took this trail down. Could not tell if it was a creekbed or trail, water was six inches deep all the way down to S. Mills river.

Old trail is decommissioned. New trail is free from obstructions and water. It follows a ridge above the old trail and still connects to squirrel and s. mills. Built as a sustainable trail with flow and very little rocks compared to the resat of riding in the area.
