This route connects Carson City's 4 major riding areas with minimal pavement. It's a fantastic day out that includes everything from flowy buffed singletrack to rugged, rocky 2-track, along with some dirt roads and cinder paths. There are resupply options in a couple of places via small detours. Recommended start/finish location is the Jack's Valley area, which allows one to finish on the always-fun Clear Creek trail.

Hang on tight, this is one of those gravity vortex trails that is down hill but you’d never know it if you closed your eyes. More tight corners and near tree handlebar misses than you ever thought was possible. Honestly a work of art that a trail was able to be built so flat and yet still descend +2000 ft . Don’t be fooled, once you get up to speed you’ll hit a quadruple shicane or squeeze between 3 trees a handlebars width apart.
Honestly great views and really cool you can bike single track from Carson to the trt, just have to work for it both up and down. Great beginner trail or link it up with the bench.

Trail Pale Rider
Fun trail in both directions! Very chunky, unlike most of the trails in the area. A few alt lines. Blue +. Very, very enjoyable will ride again.

I really hope this trail stays raw and hard. Dumbing down trails is bad form. People shoudl think of it as a challenge and improve their skills. (Yes, it's 100% rideable in both directions.)

A lot of room for improvement on this narrow rocky trail…

Trail Jackrabbit
Now known as Bob's Trail, according to the posted signs.

You can make the ascent on mostly single track from the Kings side if you start from the corner of kings canyon road and Longview, then turn right on the dirt road.

One of the most fun trails at Prison Hill IMHO, its chunky, rugged, and raw -not sandy like most of the other trails out there. Taking it uphill is possible, but will probably involve substantial hike-a-bike for most mortals.

The forest is closed now due to extreme fire danger. The ranger came in and put the signs up just as we were starting our ride. By the time we finished up the smoke was heavy from the surrounding wildfires. Confirm on National Forest website for updates.

There are a couple of fallen trees/logs blocking the trail! The trail gets a little icy towards The Knob, as well! Stay safe, friends♡

This trail was built by amateurs. There is no flow, no rhythm, and no fun. People need to think before wasting their time building substandard trails on public land. This is a great mountain in our backyard that should have a great trail. Now the trail will never be any better, never be rebuilt. It is too close to trees and in places too steep. People skid this pos because it was improperly built. Build trails correctly and there is no need to skid. This is the worst trail anywhere.

Still have snow drifts at 7,000 foot. Another warm week and they should be gone.

Clear Creek Trail

Currently mostly dry until trees (some snow in canyons). Variable snow in first part of trees. Pretty snowy after that. Made it to about 1 - 2 miles below the knob. Snow was rideable when warm and sunny, but might get icy later in the day.
