Gravel fireroads up the Silica Road up to the tower at Sugarloaf Mountain. Ideally, start the route at start of Upper Bass River Road and Mines Bass River Road, and connect up with Old Casltlereagh Road for a full 25km up, then turn around and blast back down. Last bit up to the tower is quite steep and loose gravel, after you make a sharp turn to the right for the marked tower access road. Road is pretty easy to follow with route map. A few offshoots here and there to confuse, so easier with the track. Careful in the fall, best to have hunters orange vest on. You can park anywhere near the trail head, or can park a few km's before right in Bass River, at general store. Can be loose gravel when dry, and really wet when, well it's wet out.

Detailed Description
Castlereagh Roads to Sugarloaf Tower is a 16 mile less popular intermediate route located near Economy Nova Scotia. This mountain bike only route can be used both directions and has a moderate overall physical rating. This route climbs 1,528 ft with a max elevation of 1,009 ft then descends -635 ft.
