Trail The Chutes
This is the best trail in Tucson in terms of flow. Mostly downhill, excellent wide sweeping bumpy berms (one of the few places around where you can really lean into your turns), speedy ridge-line riding, and even some opportunities for air time. If the local MTB community could get traction in digging this to be 10 times longer, it would undoubtedly be nationally ranked. Unfortunately, for now it is still a sub 2 minute DH trail. Also the optional gap at the beginning is no joke.

It is ok if you like riding dry wash outs. Only a mile long, so it’s something to tag on to another ride out there.

Seriously amazing trails! Lots of downhill fun and the uphill isn't too brutal. Some parts have some rocky areas but it's manageable. HIGHLY recommended.

As of Oct 2019, do not attempt the southern portion of this trail that connects closer to the beginning of the chutes. It is totally overgrown and hidden with cactuses across the trail and would require a lot of work with clippers and other tools. I wanted to follow the trail at least carrying my bike and it will probably take me another half an hour to get out of here stepping over and around cactuses.. too far in to turn back!

Only ride it south of the parking lot if you like deep sand, horse tracks, and the sound of gunshots

Great fun. Like a bobsled course for mountain bikes. We ended up doing it twice. Pretty unique so something to make sure and do if you visit Tucson.

Super fun, short swoopy ride! Think Jurassic park water slides without the water. Love it! We started at the 50 year trailhead, rode to The Chutes then back down 50 year for an 11km romp. Great for an early eve ride or loop it twice to get those miles in.

Dry, descent is amazing. Rutting isn't as bad as it was last summer. Looks like some new lines available on descent. Not sure if a few bushes died or were removed. Amazing to ride.
