I see videos of kids and families on this trail as experienced bikers are screaming past everyone. Are there clearly marked jumps on like a side loop or something? I can't imagine the kids going over them, especially as someone comes hauling butt from behind. So how do the jumps work if someone isn't wanting to use them?

They have 3 separate jump lines you can take, but well marked, and totally avoidable!

Amazing views, and a fast and easy way to get to the top compared to canyon hollow. You’ll be at the top of rush before you know it and you’ll get to see parts of corner canyon that you’ve never seen before.

Great way to get to the top, really scenic aswell, people should use it more often because most parts don’t have much of an incline

This is a multi-directional trail, if you don't want to deal with DH riders, pick a different trail to climb.

As of late summer 2020 there are three distinct forks in the trail that take you to optional jump lines. Very straightforward tabletops with simple speeds. Probably one of the best jump lines for a newer rider to learn on.

This is a paved neighborhood road now, the satellite map hasn’t updated yet. There’s a small bridge that you drop off the road and go under to access Achtung. I think access to the fire road and Rush might be closed permanently.

With so many new riders going slow down Vertigo, the brake bumps have gotten pretty bad through much of the trail. It has ruined the flow in some parts. Luckily it looks like it’s due for a refresh.

I only rode this up so I can't speak for riding it downhill but I found the uphill ascent to be great, relatively easy uphill with no major features to note - just a solid fun uphill climb.

This is definitely a multi-directional trail. The downhill has some little jumps, berms, and alternate paths. Should be fun once it's been packed down this winter.

There is now a sign at the bottom and it makes no declarations of direction. So it must be a multi use trail. There is still a bit of grading equipment on the trail near the top but the guy I saw working on the trail said it was open for use.

There's no sign on the bottom of this trail, unlike the adjacent Vertigo and trail which is tabled DH only on both ends. I didn't make it to the top of Wood Hollow before I encountered grading equipment in use, so I turned around and rode back down.

This trail feels like it'd be a blast once I gain a little more confidence. Today, I found myself reflexively slowing down too much as I approached the large berms, which required me to skid down the loose sand on the inside.

+1 to following the management's "blue square" rating. This trail is now marked this way on the sign at the top.

Oddly, the South Maple Hollow trail, which I rode up to get to this one, is marked blue on this site, but I don't see any reason it shouldn't be green.

There aren’t lots of “tabletops” so much as there are “long” jumps or hills that you inevitably jump on at higher speeds.

I thought I agreed on green for this until I took two beginners on it. They do fine on Ann's trail but struggeled on vertigo. Apparently if you don't have the comfort to ride the berms with speed they are a bit more of a hazard than I expected. If you stay high on them at low speed you slide out. If you stay low then you are riding in loose sand/gravel. We had three fall downs taking it at a slow pace they felt comfortable with. The same day I saw one other adult rider go down on the top section. Perhaps this is overlooked as a difficulty factor to new riders looking for green options. That said I still think it feels like a green at moderate speeds.

I added a disclaimer warning about this. The problem with ratings is, people that the type of rider that shuttles does a lot of downhill and this is easy. The type of rider that climbs to each run rides less downhill. This is a totally generality, but the difference is just enough to get one crowd to want to rate trails easier and the other more difficult. To be a relative rating (relative to Little Valley next door) this should probably intermediate, especially now that shuttle riders will almost exclusively ride Levitate.

Good points Todd. What do you think about leaving the rating consistent with what the managing entity rates it? Certainly there will be trails with no such declaration. But in the event that a very proactive group like Draper Open Spaces, or Solitude ski resort(for examples) declare a trail to be a certain difficulty I don't see the harm in Trailforks following that guidance. If an advanced rider tries a trail expecting black but gets blue there is no real problem. But if a beginner is looking for green and finds blue that could be an issue.

I totally agree with that. Although that has not stopped a few "advanced" riders from complaining that marking something expert was a waste of their time. But I agree, it is a safer to err on the side of caution.

You're right, generally speaking it should be a green. Relative to the trails in Corner Canyon, I think it is borderline. Only from the standpoint of airing out full speed. Anyone else care to chime in on what difficulty you think this should be?

Just rode the new trail today! It was SPECTACULAR! The berms were huge and the jumps were great. It was extremely loose however (as to be expected). The climb at the end of the trail leading back to was quick and mellow and I was tempted to run Vertigo again. Overall, a great trail, if Rush could get makeover like this it would be incredible.
