All Mariposa trails are best ridden with ~5.0 inch wide tires to keep the erosion and desertification at a minimum. There is lots of dune sand in this area. This is the classic loop for non fat bikes. Plus bike tire width recommended (2.8+ tire width or fatter.) Warning: If the first hill on jack rabbit Ridge is difficult for you it only gets harder from here on out. The “green” trails in the Mariposa area are very difficult and the hardness level increases substantially. If you’ve never been to this area before: start with the Mariposa Parkway Loop Route to get a feel for the soils and hills/features.
