I'm just making a route to take a large part of my day as I'm just visiting and am familiar with a few of the trails. I just never tried to link them all before.

This is a great finish downhill with some great flow after all the climbing and loose, technical downhill on the trails above.

Ride the counter clockwise downhill. Both ways are equally fun. Clockwise is longer for sure.

In regards to what Aidan said: I somewhat disagree I think the trail on its own makes it a black for sure. However if you do all of the features (especially the chute) I would say it pushes it more towards a double black.

I am 99% sure this trail is not unsanctioned and I don't know why it's marked that way. I have passed someone from the land management organization parked near the entrance on the weekend (counting users?) more than once, and you'd think they'd say something if it were.

A tough climb because of the endless loose rocks in the steep parts of the trail but a blast to bomb down with erosion control features that double as jumps. Watch out for hikers coming up on your way back down.

Not what I'd consider a "Black Diamond" trail.

What a blast. Rocky, technical and challenging with a lot of line choices. Rode it on a hard tail trail bike which definitely added to the excitement.

Most fun trail at La Costa, It’s a Black if you do all the features but all the hard features can be bypassed, I don’t think it should be rated a double black though.

Did this trail clockwise along with lake Hodges overlook counterclockwise so I think we rode both loops the"wrong" direction. Lots of loose technical climbing on both. Definitely a great workout with a little bit of spicy downhill thrown in. Nothing too scary, though, if you don't mind feeling like you're riding through the ball pit at Chuck e cheese part of the time

There is one part that is SUPER skinny and if you put you’re foot down to the right your going straight down that canyon. Super sketchy and super exposed, but if you do Rancho Summit Switches then it’s your only option. Lmao no way it’s a green (because of the exposure)

Trailforks says black and the mountain says double black. I would say it is a easier double black. Technical and fun and a great intro to double blacks.

Nascar is blown out with many of the features rounded and abated by hikers or county workers. Like most SD County gravity trails the "nimby's" do not them or dumb them down for access to more less skilled riders. A good shirt tech challenge line as you bust a lung working the others lines up and down

Fun descent. It isn't really a double black. Some solid single black sections that are fun.

Mostly a dusty fire road but there is a single track that switches back and forth along the road that is probably an intermediate ride down. Much more fun to ride the adjacent unmarked trail.

Loose rocky fire road with one really steep hike-a-bike if climbing or a really steep descent. Recommend climbing Yellow Truck or Anne's descent instead.
