This route connects some of the best trails around Salida in the S mountain area. Some connectors are not listed, after I do this route I will update with better connectors.

There is a 4 mile section on this route that is on what looks like a well maintained dirt road.

 Not sure why but the elevation gain on this route is way off. It's actually 2,520' for climbing and descending

 Absolutely loved this trail! We rode on a pretty hot day and recommend starting earlier in the summer (rookie move).

There is a long-ish road climb up and you still climb a bit on singletrack before descending down. Kid you not, there is a section called big snake and we ran across the biggest snake we have ever seen in our life there. It was almost as if it was planted!

My favorite section was the canyon to finish the ride in the end. Bring plenty of water

We rented bikes online from www.tripoutside.com/salida-co-bike-rental-absolute-bikes they were ready when we got there.

Start early, ride out of downtown and finish the loop right back in town with a cold beer.

 Love this tour. I did climb 3400 feet, but only because of a couple of wrong turns. A cue sheet would have helped. I drank 3.5 liters of water in the 26.75 miles I rode. I started at 7am, July 7, 2019. Highly recommended.

 Relatively easy to navigate with app and trail forks on the Garmin.
After 4 different trail systems on our vacation this one was our favorite. I feel like following this route we really saw the best of the system.
