Trail Supa Kanuka
Great for getting back to Aratihi from Leaping Lizard if you don't want the tough climb out from Nikau.

As per reports, the repairs that have been done to this track have really sorted out this classic track.

Haven't ridden this in a while and more rocky sections have taken out of the top section. Probably won't be long until they all are. Maybe rename the trail "Starflow". Seriously if natural trails is your thing then Wanuiomata, Belmont and Mt Vic have much, much better trails.

Love this trail for the exact reason deester hates it. Undulating, have to think about it a bit. Proper bit of singletrack that makes a change from 'motorway trails'. Nice and in the bush old school.

Top half is the best. Feels more natural than the lower bit. Good fun dips though.

Don't know what the intention is here but at the bottom section the trail builders seem to have gravelled over the rocks/roots only to put it fake features over the top of the trail. Thought it would've been better to leave the original trail!

Trail Sally Alley
The revised version of Sally Ally is an uncanny ride, where the perfectly-groomed machine-dug trail seems inexplicably cambered and determined to throw you into the abyss. It is a truly soulless trail. I expect that it will wear in over the next few years to be much better. Watch this space.

Bizarre trail - you never know which gear to be in as it goes up and then down and then up, etc, etc. Is it a climb? Is it a descent? Neither, both... dunno know!

Rebuilt last section has smoothed out all technical sections. Disappointing after what it used to be like. There was a slip I believe but did the whole section have to be flattened?

Top section still retains some natural rocks and roots but bottom section after crossing the vehicle track is becoming a flow trail. Twisty rock sections have been made into berms and the tree trunk technical section has been removed.

A bit of loose rock and the occasional gutter/channel on the steeper sections near the bottom. But overall it's riding well and nothing too scary to worry about.

Great trail! Good for bikers looking to move up from green to blue trails! Not many steep climbs and descents and fairly flat. Definetly one of my favorite Makara trails and the views are stunning!

Below the junction with Supa Kanuka there are sustained steep relatively straight downhill sections. This is a good place to practice your braking control, but there are more fun ways to lose height.
