Great way to get to the top, really scenic aswell, people should use it more often because most parts don’t have much of an incline

Fun connector trail from Westfield Road in Alpine uphill to Hog Hollow; narrow trail winds through scrub oak and through seasonal steams (some bridges); finishes by riding through a large concrete pipe that pops you out near Hog Hollow trailhead area.

This trail is a narrow single track with a lot of hikers and big bike groups over 4-5 aren't recommended.

Bear canyon itself caused me to ride elsewhere since I got tired of hike a bike. Now hidden valley is a regular trailhead for me. There are one or two other changes as well, but the old trails still exist if u want to make a go at it. The whole thing is still fairly technical and keeps away the riff raff.

Edit: should be blue, not black. The Bear Cyn bridge and a couple other route changes in the last couple years have made this section of the BST much more rideable

This trail used to be really hard with lots of loose rock and was fun to try to not dab. I heard it was castrated, say it isn't so?

Fun and fast and very popular with hikers heading to/from the Bear Cyn bridge. Other than the traffic, should likely be rated green, not black

There's a pretty cool tunnel experience half way through as well.
