Trail Beaver Flats
I think they might have hit Sky Pilot which is a legit double black. It ends just above the river crossing for Beaver Flats..

Should this just be merged with The Ridge?

The city recognizes them as different trails on their maps. Sanitation Plant is in Crothers Woods and The Ridge is in Don Valley. I’d just leave it Smile

One of the 2 hardest blues in the don along with Kitchen Sink in my opinion.

its a narrow and windy trail, trail forks has over simplified this trail as there is far more turns then it shows, by no means is this trail not fun as it is quite tight and requires a descent level of confidence to ride hard. In the end this is a good trail to spice up your ride a little if your like me and use beaver flats as a means of getting to more difficult trails farther north in the valley.

Just to help those folks that get confused going northbound when you get to the crazy big log in the way cross the water and you will find the trail.

This is not a black diamond trail, but has a few moments that might be hard for the noobs. Crothers is brothers me with all the hikers & dogs, but you can find some nice flow on this section of trail. Few cool features too.

Someone should consider making the back slope of the new trail in this area less steep. This should help minimize erosion damage.

I'd suggest that lack of maintenance and the lack of a beginner connection to the trail are larger issues, both of which are things that app users can be advised of in the trail description rather than designating it more difficult. I've walked this with the dog more times than I can count and the overgrowth, downed branches, and lack of traffic leave this trail looking far more difficult than it is. The features along Boo Trail are similar if not more difficult, but Boo Trail is well traveled and looks easier while these trails are extremely similar.

Ruined over the years by overzelous weekend warriors cutting out every root and widening the trail, but it's an essential part of a don ride and a historic trail. Overrun with strava dudes too, but what can you do.

think someone needs to edit this section - the part north of the river crossing is 100% not a green trail - was in the don yesterday and some beginner riders i ran into were upset as they used to app and it told them that gnarly descent was a green / they walked it all

Should be noted this trail was always called "Beaver Flats" by the original builders in the Don, not lower cat. Added a request for name change to suit.

Agreed. A Beginner level trail should be just that: a novice can ride it without a dismount.
