Trail Split Enz
I met a bunch of really nice riders calling themselves the Wrinkly Riders. I tagged along with them and they selected Split Enz! The trail is a lot bumpier than then I first used to ride it (before any harvesting at all). But it has handled the weather well and I had a huge smile at the bottom!

Pretty good argument for making this a G5. It’s just as technical, maybe even more so than it’s G5 neighbour Te Ahi Manawa, and overall steeper.

Great wee track, and an excellent short cut back to Waipa Carpark from the Forest Loop. Don't know which trail user thought it is a grade 5 (maybe somebody who has never ridden a grade 5?) I would consider it a solid 3.

Tried to ride this from the top of Pig Track, but it looks like it's been destroyed as part of recent logging work. The same with Soakhole. A shame, they were great tracks.

So far this is the most fun downhill track I've done in the park, flows really nice with great speed, rutted sections add to the smiles as you hold on tight. Legs definitely are feeling the burn by the end though.

Trail Bush Road
Where Bush road joins Buchanan Road it was very difficult to spot. Rode past it twice before having a really good look and then managed to find it. At this intersection it is a very narrow track. (You couldn’t drive a vehicle up it. It’s very narrow and definitely wouldn’t describe it as a Road! Further up it did widen to an overgrown 4x4 track.

The climb section should be marked as closed. It has been disrupted by quarrying and is unrideable for large sections.

Rode this today while on our way to Shark v Eagle.
Posted as Grade 2 but I would not recommended to anybody who cannot manage grade 3. It is a knarly climb and challenging in places and probably should be a G3 when you looking at Grade 3 description. The track was otherwise in good order

Rode the challenge block of trails today, all in good order and fun to ride. We did take the wrong turn where trails cross so deep idea to do it again
. Average G3 track ride.

Nice climb uphill, not many roots at all, just a steady climb up. Good for Grade 2 who want to try a Grade 3

Trail New Exit
The trails has really good flow, especially the smooth berms in the top section. Some of the corners in the lower section are pretty tight, but also large and well bermed. I just wish this trail was longer, it's over too quickly.

Note: the second half of this route (also known as Pondy Skid) is completely overgrown as of 7/7/2020. Accessible going down from the end of Pondys elevator (just) but impossible going up.

Trail Creek
Great length and variety on this trail. Some nice flowy short downhill sections and short climbs as well. Flat overall though, and a real labyrinth of a section on the last 1/3 through the redwood trees.

Mostly downhill, fast flowing rolling lines. Fun fun fun, for new and intermediate riders alike. Better than Yellow Brick Road itself, our 2 year old was giggling with joy the entire way down (on his front mounted "Do Little" bike seat. Can't wait to do it again.

Trail The Tickler
I really enjoyed the top(downhill) section of the tickler. After about 2.5-3 minutes or so the trail starts to flatten out in sections meaning you need to get those legs pumping again. Felt a bit tedious after 5 hours of riding.Would be a good ride if you still had ample energy in the tank or where after a quick fix
