Summer 2022: Rhizome can be accessed by a new climb trail (Red Tape / Nikkei climb), which is WAY better than the road climb. The new climb starts on the west side of the Nikkei mountain.

The top half of Rhizome is the more popular route, connecting into Banzai Express Lane and then over to Woodcutter.

Still very ridable, but the ferns are starting to close in.

Don’t think there is any plan to rebuild. The whole trail is getting pretty old and I don’t think anyone is willing to take on that big of a project. Still a sick trail

Such a fun trail with lots of fun wood features. All of them can be ridden around except the first bridge which you can walk if needed.

Came back after a year to sadly find the first feature completely destroyed. Shame it had to go as it’s a pretty unique trail that just doesn’t feel worth it anymore

That's too bad, I got a kick out of this trail. Do you know if there is any plan to rebuild or was it just taken out cause skinnies are not cool in 2022?

That sounded entitled on my part my bad ^. I'm just wondering whether the feature was taken out due to risk management or because it fell apart

My sons and I live in North Van, however we get over to Cumberland Several time per year. The trails here are amazing. There is a nice variety of trails. I know it is a easier trail however Space Nugget is still one of my favourites.

Trail ratings are hard with such a limited range of options, but this is more of an easy black/double blue imo especially with the tech climb section. Had a newbie friend worried that blue trails would be beyond his skill after trying to ride this on his first ride.
Lower thirsty Beaver is an easier trail and is rated black to give some idea. Fun trail to connect with truffle shuffle.

Fun trail. Steep sections. I am pushing my luck with this one at 67 years old, but I love it. Maybe I can ride the whole thing next time.

Very nice blue trail. There are features you can go around. Still challenging enough. Thank you trail builders for the options.

If you like not seeing where you’re going and having your skin ripped apart by foliage for 15 minutes when this is the trail for you.

Love this trail, it flows well and it has a half pipe sort of section where you wave back and forth through a ravine style area. Not difficult just fun!

Trail Middle 50:1
On July 7, 2017 I lost my Garmin 520 during the BCBR. We climbed up 50:1 to Cabbage Patch. It was on one of the final right hand turns before starting into Cabbage Patch. There was some congestion and I fell left at the turn. There is a downed log right atvthe corner. Unfortunately I didn't notice until we hit the fire road. If found please contact Kevin (403) 585-7740
