There are so many trees down right now. A chainsaw is needed for a lot of the big one's. We cleared a lot but so many are still down. Some spots are slumped on devil's gulch as well and new tread needs to be cut across them. Still fun but 3hr tour turned into 5.5 hrs....

Does anyone know if the downed trees have been cleared?

Rode it 10/17/2020. Many trees down from recent storm. Probably around 50 spots where you have to dismount and climb over, around, or even crawl under. Lots of dead trees from fire are now unstable susceptible to wind. Nothing really big over 18 inches, but lots of limbs and debris to pick up.

Top section has about 20 large trees down. Bottom section from Mission jct on down has about 10. Give yourself extra time.

The gate is open above the upper Devil's Gulch TH and you can ride/drive all the way to the upper Mission Ridge TH. Beyond that, you can drive about 1/2 mile more and then there are severe washouts that close the road. Even 4x4 vehicles cannot pass because of the severity of the washouts and the erosion of the slope. Motorcycles and bikes will have no problem.
