Trail has been cut back, thanks park service. Keep an eye out for metal retaining stakes on switchbacks. Otherwise in it usual shape a little more rutted and loose than usual for the one steep climbing section.

CROWDED and scary around objects since bikes and pedestrians are on the same side most of the time. Good thing tourist numbers are down or it would be gridlock! WOOSH! A moving truck passes 2 feet away at 60 MPH.., Look how pretty!

there's still a big rut around 3 to 4 feet deep near halfway down the trail
