This route is designed for the Bigfoot Adventure Challenge ( bigfootadventurechallenge.com) but is awesome for anyone in Redding looking for a fun, easy MTB ride from the core of downtown.

The route starts in downtown Redding and proceeds on a cycle track (protected bike lane) to the Diestlehorst Bridge and the paved Sacramento River Trail. It's then up the Sacramento River Trail before taking a left onto the Buena Ventura Trail (many locals call it the 10 Bridges Trail) for a short climb to Buena Ventura Blvd and the Salt Creek Heights Neighborhood. Next is a short ride on Buena Ventura Blvd and Haleakala Drive to the Salt Creek Heights Park and the Salt Creek Heights Trail (some locals calling it the 3 Bridges Trail). Down the Salt Creek Heights Trail (super fun flow trail) to the Salt Creek Trail and then back to the Sacramento River Trail. The finish is on a different portion of the Sacramento River Trail, across the Diestlehorst Bridge, and then the cycle track back to downtown Redding. Super fun trail and amazing to be able to start at your favorite brewery, bike shop, coffee shop or the Shasta Bike Depot.
