The route uses some of the best parts of the Porter Trail. It breaks down into 3 sections of 5 miles each.
From the parking spot to joining the trail at the C-2700 is a good 5 mile warm up and chance to tell each other stories about the rides missed.
The second 5 miles is single track that winds up and down thru timber and clear cuts back to where the first section changed to a logging road.
The last 5 mile section drops down to the end of the trail and is great for smoothing out your turns and carrying momentum up the small climbs. In the middle part is a nice section with some tight twists and roots and rocks.
There aren't many people that ride this side of Capitol Forest. We might see four other people a summer.
Some horse riders use the trail when it is open to them from April to October.
