Emersons 3 Peaks 2017 day 1 course.
There is no practising with bikes on Pepper Tree Track (Stage 1) and Mt Cargill walking track (Stage 3). The race organisers reserve the right where necessary to disqualify riders for pre-riding these tracks if they deem it appropriate.

Race starts at Woodhaugh gardens.
Liason via the road to the start of the pineapple track and the climb up the pineapple track.

Stage 1: Pepper Tree Track to Nicols Creek. (Walking track, no pre-riding)
Climb up Nicols Creek MTB track.
Stage 2: Nicols Creek Enduro track.
Climb up Lieth Valley Road, right into Drydon Road across the motorway through the farm up onto Cowan rd then the slog to the top of Mt Cargill.
Stage 3: Mt Cargill Walking Track.
Climb up to the top of the Bethunes Gully MTB tracks.
Stage 4: Bethunes Gully track

Detailed Description
Emersons 3 Peaks Day 1 2017 is a 16 mile extreme race route located near Dunedin. This mountain bike only route can be used one direction and has a extreme overall physical rating. This route includes 4 trails. This route climbs 4,769 ft with a max elevation of 2,198 ft then descends -4,458 ft.
