There are a couple ways to ride Green Canyon, but this is my favorite winter fatbike ride. The dirt road is open in the summer, but gated and graded for XC Skiing in the winter. If you really like to spin up singletrack on your fatbike then you can take the single track up and ride it down. I prefer to get warmed up and have a nice easy spin up the road. The road is usually heavily packed, there are no soft sections and it gets me to the DH sooner. The road will typically have fairly heavy ski traffic but the grade is so low everyone is moving slow.

The DH in Green Canyon is really flowy in both summer and winter. In winter there are a few rocky switch backs that are totally buff in the winter and you will find it easier to ride in the winter. There will also be some softer sections especially as you near the top where not as many snow shoe hikers pack it down. The bottom half is packed and fast.

The bottom is greasy with some muddy spots up to the seventh section. The seventh section is bad. I wouldn't recommend riding it.
