An alternative route to Fernhill Loop utilising as much purpose built singletrac as possible. Allow roughly 3 to 5 hours depending on fitness/skill. Beware of Salmon Run as there are some pretty hard steep sections. If you take the old Fernhill Loop down it becomes more of a single black diamond/Very Difficult (NZ Grade 4) ride. Very much a back country feel only a few minutes from the town centre but it also means that emergency assistance is difficult as there is no motor vehicle access for most of the route.

Trail Upper Wynyard Express
So good. Some serious north shore features and big jumps if you're up for it. Berms are loose but made so well. Lots of ruts, so hold on tight. Definitely a wild ride.
