Squirrel Gap is a classic ride in Pisgah National Forest, near Brevard, NC. The route starts from the Turkeypen Trailhead, off of Highway 280 and descends out of the parking lot, crossing the South Mills River on a footbridge, and then climbing to the Mullinax trail before intersecting the Squirrel Gap trail. Squirrel continues left and climbs several more miles on technical, pristine, single-track for passing a few other trails and turn offs until intersecting the South Mills River trail once again after crossing a second foot bridge. The out and back route turns around here, climbs back up for a couple of miles, and then descends back to the Mullinax intersection, following Mullinax back down to the South Mills River trail, once again, retracing what was ridden earlier. Once the trail crosses the first footbridge, it can be followed back up the initial technical single-track descent to the parking lot or one can turn left and follow double-track up and out for an easier option.

Thanks for posting the details. Strava doesn't offer the cues your notes do.
