Great loop to do most of the main trails in Mills River. Long gravel road climb up to Spencer Gap and plenty of roller coaster descending. The upper portion of Fletcher Creek passes through a few large meadows and the remains of a vast beaver dam can be seen on the left side. A few creek crossings, all easily rideable. Nothing too hard, lots of speed and plenty of sweeping turns.

At the bottom of Fletcher Creek you can make a 180 right and gide a few hundred yards up to the Mills River Reservoir, the intersection for some legendary trails Sassafras and Big Fork.

Trail is in great shape right now. Water crossings were pretty low so they were rideable. Not as steep as I remember when riding it in the 90's, but my equipment has changed a lot. Great loop that gets the climbing over with early
