La EPIC Day ripercorre per il primo tratto quello della “sorella maggiore” Garfagnana EPIC.
La partenza per entrambe gli eventi avverrà simultaneamente e come di consueto da Gallicano. Da qui raggiungeremo il paese di Cascio, transitando successivamente per Castelnuovo Garfagnana fino a raggiungere la Fortezza di Monte Alfonso. Proseguiremo insieme fino al Sacrario della Croce, dove è previsto il primo ristoro di giornata. I due percorsi si divideranno poi, una volta raggiunto il paese di Poggio.
I partecipanti alla EPIC Day proseguiranno attraversando il caratteristico Ponte Ferroviario della Villetta, da cui sarà possibile godere del suggestivo scenario offerto dalla vallata, che incornicia lo splendido borgo della Sambuca. Percorrendo una bella trattorabile nel bosco raggiungeremo Villa Collemandina.
Dall’omonimo lago inizierà una lunga ed a tratti molto impegnativa salita in direzione di Massa Sassorosso, paese di origine del famoso musicista Astor Piazzolla. Non raggiungeremo il paese ma svolteremo prima e percorreremo un caratteristico sentiero denominato “Il Gufo”. Il sentiero si sviluppa in salita attraverso larghi terrazzamenti prativi separati da bellissimi muretti a secco fino a transitare al bordo di un ripido e profondo precipizio a picco sulla gola del fiume di Corfino con il caratteristico ponte di Canigiano e le Apuane sullo sfondo. Arriveremo a Sassorosso, un piccolo “presepe” addossato ad uno sprone di marmo rosso, che deve il suo nome alla particolare tonalità delle pietre con cui sono costruite le case.
Proseguendo in Località Casina Rossa troveremo il secondo ristoro di giornata.
Scenderemo verso il fondovallle e lo faremo percorrendo due divertenti sentieri denominati “La Fonte” e “96”, i quali ci consentiranno di raggiungere Castiglione di Garfagnana, uno dei borghi più belli d’Italia con il suo caratteristico castello.
A Castelnuovo di Garfagnana il percorso della EPIC Day si ricongiungerà al percorso della Garfagnana EPIC, proseguendo per Palleroso e Fiattone fino a raggiungere Gallicano.

Garfagnana EPIC Day 2023 is a 39 mile moderately popular intermediate route located near Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. This mountain bike primary route and has a hard overall physical rating. This route includes 5 trails. This route climbs 8,609 ft with a max elevation of 3,483 ft then descends -8,612 ft.
