Trancoso -> Linhares da Beira

Esta etapa deixa Trancoso pelo lado sul, entra em terra batida e desce em direção à localidade de Miguel Choco, daqui, e passando logo depois por Vendo do Cepo, entra no vale da ribeira de Muxagata. Ao longo deste vale, passa pela Aldeia Nova e pela aldeia que lhe dá nome, acompanhando esta ribeira até à sua foz no rio Mondego. Aqui, cruza a linha de comboio e a autoestrada, pela passagem inferior, segue o rio Mondego para jusante e atravessa-o num açude (travessia condicionada em período de cheia, ver alternativa) para de seguida subir a encosta até à EN16. Cruzando esta estrada, o percurso mantém a direção sul, passando ao largo de Vila Soeiro e cruzando as localidades de Mesquitela, Carrapichana e Figueiró da Serra, em direção a Linhares da Beira, onde chega em conjunto com uma Pequena Rota pela calçada Romana.

Linhares da Beira -> Trancoso

Deixando Linhares da Beira pela calçada romana, esta etapa segue o PR4 até atravessar a ribeira, onde deixa este percurso e segue em direção a Figueiró da Serra. Mantendo a direção tendencial para norte, cruza a EN 17 e as localidades de Carrapichana e Mesquitela, utilizando maioritariamente caminhos de terra. Daqui o percurso dirige-se para o rio Mondego, passa perto da Vila Soeiro, cruza a EN16 e inicia a descida para o interior do vale. Aqui, atravessa o rio num açude (travessia condicionada em período de cheia, ver alternativa) e segue até à foz da ribeira da Muxagata. Daqui acompanha a ribeira até à sua nascente, passando pela aldeia que lhe dá nome e pela Aldeia Nova, até chegar ao topo do vale, junto a Venda do Cepo. Deste ponto, a etapa continua para norte até Miguel Choco, onde inicia a subida para Trancoso.
