Die Route startet mitten im idyllischen Bergdorf Grächen und führt in einem ersten Teil via Gasenried bis nach Schalbettu. Die leicht ansteigende Strecke verläuft teilweise über Forstwege und durchquert dabei ein bezauberndes Stück Wald. Nach Schalbettu überquert der Weg den Riedbach und mündet nach wenigen hundert Metern auf der Forststrasse in einen wunderbaren Trail. Dieser schmiegt sich auf den ersten zwei Kilometern an die Bergflanken und führt dann ins Mattertal hinein. Wer jetzt noch nicht ausser Atem ist, dem dürfte spätestens der Anblick der hochalpinen Bergwelt mit Klassikern wie Weisshorn und Zinalrothorn die Sprache verschlagen – einfach atemberaubend. Ab dem Gebiet Balmu startet dann das Abfahrts- und Trailvergnügen. Der vielseitige und abwechslungsreiche Singletrail bis nach Mattsand ist von bester Qualität und verspricht Bikerspass ohne Ende. Ab Mattsand bietet sich dann der Rückweg nach St. Niklaus oder der Anschluss an den Trail Visp–Zermatt (Nr. 150) an.
