If you want to fully experience Grand Targhee's cross-country trails, then the Grand Targhee Loop is the trail for you. You can ride this route in either direction and add other sections of the trail to increase the mileage. This loop became an IMBA EPIC trail in 2014. The IMBA EPICS designation denotes a true backcountry riding experience. IMBA EPICS are what many mountain bikers live for and make travel plans around: immersive rides that are technically and physically challenging, beautiful to behold and worthy of celebration. EPICS are more than 80 percent singletrack and at least 20 miles in length. The list is crowd-sourced with nominations accepted on an annual basis.

Detailed Description
Grand Targhee Loop (IMBA EPIC) is a 29 mile popular intermediate route located near Alta Wyoming. This mountain bike primary route can be used both directions. This route includes 44 trails. This route climbs 3,438 ft with a max elevation of 9,145 ft then descends -3,482 ft.
