Do not park at the Donovan School when school is in session. This is primarily a weekend starting point to avoid the crowds at Houghton's Pond.

Great tour of the entire Blue Hills system. This includes the white and yellow trails as well as the trails south of Route 93 called Ponkapoag. You can start anywhere on the route but this specific route starts at the Donovan elementary School in Randolph. It also includes both directions in the East Ponkapoag section as this 2 mile trail runs really nice in both directions. You do not need great technical skills for this ride but it's long and has about 2,000' of climbing so you must be fit. Expect a decent rider to do this route in 3 -4 hours. It's listed as one direction as preferred due to some steep climbs. However, feel free to try it backwards.
