The first stage of Vaucluse Great Crossing made for mtb by the Vaucluse Tourism Office

A long ascent to the cirque and the crest of Saint Amand (alt 615 m), allows you to reach breathtaking views of the famous limestone ridges of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The rest of the route is along a rather descending profile via the village of Suzette, in a landscape of pine forests and vineyards, to Lafare. Very hilly, this stretch is one of the most physical parts of the route. After Lafare, you pass successively the perched villages of La Roque-Alric and Barroux, to take the direction of Lac du Paty and its surroundings, by a series of beautiful single-tracks. A nice stretch of road to the Col de la Madeleine (alt.448 m) allows you to breathe a little. After an astonishing passage in the ocher grounds at the Font de Loup, you go slowly towards Bedoin, the south gate of the mythical Mont Ventoux.
