The east end is clear of deadfall up to the edge of the recent burn…~1 mile in. I went no further as the chainsaw rebelled like an angst filled teenager.
Hat Creek Middle Fork

Cleared 9 down trees, 4 remain (medium sized lodgepole), and more will likely fall this winter. The trail rides well as a climb or descent, but portions of the burned area still have not recovered - expect loose dirt and loose chunky rocks in places.

Clear of deadfall. The switchbacked climb south of the saddle is getting loose. Good riding otherwise.

I rode between the Middle Fork and North Fork Trails. Trail is dry. There's some hike a bike going up and down the ridge due to erosion. Spectacular views. Fun and challenging.
