Stay out of mines.

Begin on fence line, turn onto hawes and ride up the big hill, affectionately known as cardiac to riders. After catching your breath, enjoy ripping one of the best sections in the area, saddle and secret. It is easy to miss the turn when you rejoin saddle, so be wary. Upper ridge can be a very fast and very fun descent, but some poor grinder will surprise you on a blind turn, so be wary. Take the right fork for the Saguaro Cut and launch watch for some jumps you may be able to hit. You'll begin climbing again. Make sure to keep you speed at the big wash and then keep spinning another lovely climb to the top of Saguaro (aka mineshaft).

Mineshaft is one of the more difficult trails in the area. Careful on the switchback corners, they can be slippery and there is some exposure - nothing too serious, but you should stay on the trail. Extended rock garden. There is also a right hand hook half way down that you might want to walk. Speed picks up for big smiles at the end. The rest of the ride is a slow climb up and out of the area and back to fence line. Note the cliff on your left on Hawes before you dip down into the big wash.

You can optionally take upper ridge from granite and stay to the center of the park for a shorter return. There is a fun climb up a rock garden on Saguaro if you're into that sort of thing.
