Trail Great Escape
I'm not an expert at the MTB, but this is one of the most fun trails out there. Rip it.

If you're dropping to this after Mag 7 - know that it's a hard ride. At the bottom of Mag 7, it's sandy, and you climb a monster ridge to get out to the bike path. Beautiful though.

The entire Getaway trail system in Mag-7 area is a blast. Getaway Top is super fun and flowy and then graduates into a bit more rocky as you transition into the Upper Getaway section. Still really fun and has some flowy sections as well but you can really hammer down on the upper top section. The entire Getaway Trail (top down to lower) is a great for beginners as well. I took my 9 year old son and one daughter who is not super experienced and they had a blast. You can take it at your own speed and be as careful or as rambunctious as you want to! Definitely a “must do“ trail here in the lab.

Love this trail, fun downhill and equally enjoyable climb up!

Not a great MTB trail. Too much sand and loose rock on the Jeep trail, and the down hills are not worth the climbs. Would not recommend this trail for most riders.

This trail is NOT a valid alternate to Portal, after riding for 3+ hours. It is not a mountain bike trail. It is full of unrideable sand and steep climbs. Do not let the elevation profile fool you. It will add 2-3 hours to your ride. Near the end as the sun slips below the horizon, and you are forced to walk on the porch dark, you will fondly remember your last drops of water. Only the screams of the sand walkers in the distance will encourage you to continue. All you want to do is curl up in a ball and cry. Cry dry tears.

This is the best way to ride UP if you come down Great Escape and are doing a loop. Don’t do it the other way around unless you like to suffer.

Trail Great Escape
I did Bull Run plus Great Escape and then ride back up Getaway, etc. A fun 20 mile loop with no shuttle required.

Getaway is my favorite trail in Moab to bring beginner through intermediate riders. I’ve had kids as young as 8 all the up to my 70yo father on it many times done as a shuttle for those that are not strong enough to ride back up. It offers a perfect mix of flow and technical riding to offer beginners a challenge yet an advance rider has plenty of fun by picking up the pace. At the end a short ride up to Gemini Bridges is the icing on the cake.

This trail sucks,... its the worst I’ve ridden in Moab.... there feels like of over a mile of sand dunes to ride / walkthrough, with all the excellent ridiing in Moab I would put this bottom of the list so far, I’ve ridden about 30 of the trails in Moab

Some tricky steps going down, I endo'd and banged my knee good. Commit and go hard.

I took Great Escape going back the other direction, and I didn't really think it was better than Arth's/LC, just different. Great Escape might be better going outbound.

Trail Great Escape
Took this as part of Mag 7. Nice EASY trail that even hits some plains and grass sections. Not for those that want some more challenge. Take Bull run instead and have more fun.
